What would be your description of your game?

Nonogueram is a fast-paced, procedural nonogram puzzle roguelike. Solve increasingly difficult puzzles, collect items, race the clock, and defeat bosses to progress through floors. Experiment with a myriad of item combinations and attempt riskier puzzles for even greater rewards. Take on unique challenges to unlock even more powerful items. Test your wits against bosses who manipulate and modify the very world itself. Pick from a range of characters with unique abilities to aid you in your path to victory.

How did development start? (Were there any key inspirations or ideas that drove you?)

Nonogueram was originally created as an entry to a game jam. The core concept came from an early love of Picross games followed by a more recent obsession with Roguelike/lites. This is what brought forward our idea to combine the two genres in a Slay The Spire/Balatro mashup, where you strategically gather more and more items to eventually create “chain reactions” that help you solve.

Tell us about the team behind the game!

The team behind Nonogueram is a team of 3; Jordan (Producer, Generalist), Tom (Audio), and Beth (Generalist).
We’re a subset of Cucumber Maki, which is an amalgamation of multiple different devs with the express purpose of game jams! We’re looking towards releasing some more built-up games which is where Nonogueram’s continued development effort comes from.

What kind of experiences do you hope to bring players?

Nonogueram’s design is “player centric”. We want the player to have a good experience, not feeling punished for the wrong reasons, allow players to enjoy the challenge they choose for themselves, and allow them to feel good flowing through the game.

In 10 words or less, highlight the appeal of the game!

Fast procedural Picross puzzle roguelite where items cause chain reactions.
