GaMaYo 23 Showcase #13:
Snowglobe at GaMaYo

Over 35 new games will be on show at GaMaYo on 21st November with 400+ developers attending the event to try them out alongside publishers, investors and platform holders. The event is managed by Game Republic along with their Official Partners Red Kite Games, Barclays Games and Creative and Escape Technology

Today we look at demo number 13 confirmed to be at the event – a game from Snowglobe Interactive

Book of Bhanu

What would be your description of your game?

Book of Bhanu is a narrative-driven exploration puzzle game where players guide Bhanu, accompanied by her spirit companion, Amka, as she navigates the treacherous Keya Mountain. Her goal is to reach her family’s temple as part of a rite of passage. Throughout her journey, she must overcome both physical and emotional challenges, solve intricate puzzles, and interact with a diverse cast of NPCs, who either help or hinder her progress. The game explores themes of personal growth, family legacy, and spiritual discovery.

How did development start? Were there any key inspirations or ideas that drove you?

What began as a university project has since evolved into a passion project. The core idea stemmed from exploring a cultural past, much like how some games draw inspiration from ancient Egypt. In our case, Book of Bhanu is inspired by Inuit culture.

Tell us about the team behind the game?

Since our last showcase at GaMaYo, our team has evolved from the talented individuals who helped to get the project to where it is and who helped to bring the prototype and vision of the game to life. Moving forward, we’ve established a dedicated team under Snowglobe to fully develop and bring the game to fruition.

What kind of experiences do you hope to bring players?

Our goal is to create games that offer engaging puzzles and rich narratives, designed for players who enjoy thoughtful, slower-paced experiences rather than fast-paced or competitive gameplay.

In 10 words or less, highlight the appeal of the game?

To summarise Book of Bhanu I would say it is a game that features rich storytelling, mystical puzzles and stunning environments.
