Game Makers Yorkshire and the North

Thunderstrike Reckoning
to demo at GaMaYo

3 DAYS TO GO…

We are getting into the final stretch now as GaMaYo is coming up this Thursday, the 23rd of November at Tileyard North in Wakefield, and we still have more than enough time to bring news of the games of the games that are going to be on show there!

The next game we would like to show off is…

Thunderstrike Reckoning

This is being developed by Daniel Speight and we’ve asked him a few questions to tell us a bit more about what to expect.

How would you describe Thunderstrike Reckoning?
Daniel – “Thunderstrike Reckoning is a fast paced shooter that rewards quick thinking and accurate shots to complete missions to move on with the level.”

How did development begin? Were there any key inspirations or ideas that drove you?
Daniel – “Development started whilst at university with an assignment in maths, in which I took inspiration from Sniper Elite to create a physics system.
After the assignment I enjoyed working on it so much that I continued and wanted to create a game with an old school theme.
This led to taking inspiration from ‘Goldeneye 007’ for the main levels.”

Tell us a bit about yourself and what led you into making games?
Daniel – “I am from Leeds, in a town called Horsforth. I am neuro diverse from multiple tests that I had to push for otherwise I would have never got tested. I started in games by enjoying them and wanted to know how they are made and the process behind them, which led me down a programming path and to game development”

What experiences or feelings do you hope to bring to the players?
Daniel – “I hope the player experiences a similar feeling to old school shooters by the fast paced movement and simple actions to create an enjoyable game”

In 10 words or less, highlight the appeal of Thunderstrike Reckoning?
Daniel – “Fast levels that require quick thinking and focus to complete”
