This May 22nd, GaMaYo is being held at Project House, Leeds for it’s 24th run where 38 games are demoing, with 300+ developers, game industry publishers, investors and platforms in attendance.
This event is brought to you by Game Republic along with their Official Partners Barclays Games and Creative, Xsolla and Red Kite Games, with event sponsor Plus Accounting.
Today we are looking at ‘X-GRAVITY’ which is confirmed to be at the event, from Blueshift Interactive!

X-GRAVITY by Blueshift Interactive
What would be your description of your game?
Build your social media FlikFlark following as you pull off gravity-defying combos, and work your way up to competing in the GRAV-GAMES and prove yourself as the ultimate pro skater.

How did development start? (Were there any key inspirations or ideas that drove you?)
X-GRAVITY was formed out of ideas we had over the years and various prototypes for what might seem like completely different games – including a prototype we tinkered with for years called Learn2Drive; a first-person surgeon simulator style game which has you trying to navigate driving a car in a whacky open world and taking on crazy missions for a whacky cast of characters (the last part sound familiar?).

Tell us about the team behind the game!
When X-GRAVITY started becoming more than just a prototype, Luna recognised that this wasn’t going to be possible to do part-time, and quit their job as a Lead Technical Artist @ MPG and formed a new studio in the heart of Nottingham – Blueshift Interactive!
George shortly followed to join on a more full-time basis. and we’ve been working away on the company ever since with a fork approach of; a) work-for-hire by helping other studios get their projects off the ground and over the finish line, b) building our internal tech stack for future proof development on Unreal Engine, and finally c) working hard on our internal projects like X-GRAVITY.

What kind of experiences do you hope to bring players?
We’re bringing a familiar experience to fans of the extreme sports game boom of the ’00s – fans of games like Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater & SSX will feel right at home here!
But we’re also innovating upon that experience with our crazy gravity mechanic that will see you pulling off combos that were impossible in those games!
And we’re bringing a taste of games like Simpsons Hit & Run with our semi open-world mission-based structure – expect to be interacting with a whacky cast of alien characters and taking on missions that’ll make you laugh.

In 10 words or less, highlight the appeal of the game!
THPS x Super Mario Galaxy x Futurama
