CHILDREN OF HELL by Stanwixbuster

What would be your description of your game?

Team Z.A.C.K. are immortal, and the government tells them to kill demons. A visual novel where everything hinges on when, or even if, you make a choice. 4 POV characters, 4 branching Acts, 8 endings.

How did development start? (Were there any key inspirations or ideas that drove you?)

Stanley originally made CHILDREN OF HELL as part of a 1 month game jam, spinning off an ongoing project containing “immortals”, people who, for unknown reasons, can never die. A lot of people wanted more. After some time, he invited Dagny to create hellish electronic grooves, and Jack to represent them with grotesque and eldritch VFX. The result festers happily on his hard drive, and soon in your head.

Tell us about the team behind the game!

  • Stanley (Stanwixbuster) is a narrative games dev making experiences that are satirical, horrifying, or queer, and sometimes all at once. He makes games for exactly 3 people to lose their minds.
  • Dagny (Shredtune) is a record producer, DJ, and multi-instrumentalist; hailing from the internet and starting to bark in the underground.
  • Jack (jackflash) is a 3D visual artist and graphic designer that specializes in early 2000’s inspired abstract maximalism, whose work ranges from abstract cover art and posters to live concert visuals.

What kind of experiences do you hope to bring players?

A story that doesn’t leave them.

In 10 words or less, highlight the appeal of the game!

Anti-capitalist, cathartic, and uncompromisingly queer.
