Teensy Tiny Tankery by Neptuna
What would be your description of your game?
Teensy Tiny Tankery is an arcade-style tank combat game. Up to eight players team up to defend their base from waves of incoming enemies. The game’s art style is based on a children’s toy room.
How did development start? (Were there any key inspirations or ideas that drove you?)
We started development at the Game Republic Graduate Skills Bootcamp (2024-2025). Together, we developed the technical alpha in 16 working hours, building the core in ROBLOX. The key influences for our art style were Wii Tanks (Wii), Seek and Destroy (PS2), and Toy Commander (Dreamcast). World of Tanks (PC/Console), World of Tanks Blitz (PC/Mobile), and War Thunder (PC) inspired the gameplay’s concepts.
Tell us about the team behind the game!
- Sam Rowett, our Game Designer, created the original prototype that became the game’s foundation. From the project’s start, his ideas and direction have empowered us to design the game’s core various times to capture a vision unique to the ROBLOX platform.
- Nicholas Thursby, our 3D, joined to develop his modelling skills. Many of the environment assets created during the Technical Alpha were made by him. He is currently hard at work bringing to life the many tank models that players will be able to customise.
- Hugh Vincent, our composer, lead the sound design. He also aided greatly with the Technical Alpha’s documentation and designed our prototype tank. As we enter Beta, he continues to produce music and sound effects for the game, as well as additional 3D assets.
- Rory Simpson, one of our 3D artists for the Technical Alpha, joined during the Technical Alpha. Contributing several environment assets, he helped to shape the game’s theme and concept. These early visions have contributed greatly to our new art style.
- May Gilbertson, our Programmer, has over 10 years of experience with the ROBLOX platform. She brought the team’s many assets and concepts into the engine and built many of the game’s systems. Her insights have massively helped to drive new updates, content and patches.
What kind of experiences do you hope to bring players?
We hope to bring players a stand-out wave-survival challenge with a wide variety of enemy types, stage hazards and power-ups. We also look forward to seeing how players personalise tanks with a plethora of both toyetic and historical models, various components, and a diversity of colours. Our team has been hard at work concepting new maps, new gameplay mechanics and tank designs that we’re thrilled to bring to players and Attendees at GaMaYo!
