GaMaYo tops 400 registrations and new roundtables announced

Over 400 game developers have now registered for GaMaYo which will be taking place at brand new venue WX in the centre of Wakefield. The event on 21st November will include over 35 new game demos, a retro arcade, a Halo ring of Xbox consoles in the spectacular new space, before it officially opens to the public.

The event is being managed by Game Republic with support from their Official Partners Red Kite Games, Barclays Games and Creative and Escape Technology. GaMaYo will also see the winners of the Game Republic Awards revealed including Best Indie Game Made in The North which is currently open for a public vote.

Alongside networking and a chance to play games (old and new), the event will also include a series of 20 minute roundtables for indie game developers with expert advice available from investors, publishers, press, platform-holders, tech, legal and financial experts.

Roundtable topics confirmed so far which will take place between 5-6pm include:

PQube will be leading a roundtable on publishing and investment
Mastered present “Future proofing your art pipeline – a roundtable to talk teams and tools”
Curve Games will be providing a meet the publisher session and help game developers find out about what they are looking for to signwhat they bring to the table to help developers and what kinds of deals they can offer when signing new games
Ben Robinson from ID@Xbox will be helping developers to find out more about publishing on Xbox, pitching advice and how to highlight your game on Xbox
