KOPI by Dream On A Stick

What would be your description of your game?

Kitchen chaos–single player & co-op game where you get to make more and more challenging drinks and food for more and more demanding customers.

How did development start? (Were there any key inspirations or ideas that drove you?)

We started over just before Christmas 2 years ago. We [and our friends all] loved the couch co-op mode of Overcooked, but we wanted to develop our own style, our own game mechanics. We naively thought “how hard can it be”–but we’re now quite pleased with the result.

Tell us about the team behind the game!

We’re two old friends; we met at work, liked (and still like) playing games, so we decided to embrace our mid-life crisis and start game development for real. I’m originally from the Czech Republic, Andrew is from Malaysia (hence the name KOPI–it’s the Malay word for coffee). Over the years, we developed our art style while not skipping out on the engineering.

What kind of experiences do you hope to bring players?

A super fun game with a unique visual style. In single-player mode the pleasure of casual gameplay: whether you play on a portable or on a big screen, embrace the challenge of figuring out the most effective way of serving the customers, aim for 3 stars in all levels. In the co-op mode, pure fun and chaos. It doesn’t matter how many cups get broken, how many fry-ups end up in smoke, as long as you can have fun together.

In 10 words or less, highlight the appeal of the game!

A great-looking cooking game with subtle humour and awesome gameplay.
