Phantom Floor, by Hawaiian Shirt Games
What would be your description of your game?
Phantom Floor is a survival horror game, set in a hotel. During a routine visit, you find yourself trapped in a hellscape, with something horrific relentlessly chasing you down the maze-like halls. You’ll have to find a way to repair the elevator to escape, but you’ll need tools to do so.
How did development start? (Were there any key inspirations or ideas that drove you?)
Development on Phantom Floor began after we decided we’d all like to make a horror game. To work within our skillset at the time, we looked at simpler horror games such as Slender for inspiration. Not long after we came across the Slendrina and Granny series of games, and realised this was the direction we wanted to take with Phantom Floor.

Tell us about the team behind the game!
Hawaiian Shirt Games is currently a 4 person team, all located within Greater Manchester. We work on games in our spare time, but all aspire to one day work fulltime in development. As a team we have so far released one game, Overencumbered In Another World, which was positively received. Producer and Programmer Daniel Tierney, Associate Producer and Environmental Artist Dave Lingard, Character Artist and Animator Sam Egan, and Quality Assurance Specialist Ryan Keylock.
What kind of experiences do you hope to bring players?
We’re hoping to bring a healthy mix of brain scratching puzzles, along with some brown pants moments to our players. We’re working hard to make sure the game is challenging, but also gives a fair chance to players who may traditionally struggle with horror games.

In 10 words or less, highlight the appeal of the game!
HOTEL. TRAPPED. CHASED. CREEPY VOICES. REFERENCES. Keep the change.
