ThingyPaint by Sigtrap
What would be your description of your game?
Thingy Paint is a cozy game where you unlock, collect and paint sets of figurines inspired by designer toys, Japanese gacha, miniatures and more. Pick a palette and immerse yourself in a curated painting experience. Once complete, proudly display your completed model in your own personalised hobby space.

How did development start? (Were there any key inspirations or ideas that drove you?)
The game is inspired by our love for soothing games like Powerwash Simulator and own experiences painting miniatures and figurines. When the idea came up, we threw together a rough proof-of-concept and quickly found ourselves spending far longer “testing” it than we needed to – that’s when we knew we had something. Thingy Paint is focused on the joy of painting, without the mess!
Tell us about the team behind the game?
Sigtrap is an experienced team with over a decade of working on our own games such as Sublevel Zero Redux and Under Cover. We’ve also worked on other games, for instance on the Meta Quest launch port of Superhot VR. We’re working alongside other incredibly talented folks to build Thingy Paint, including miniature sculpting experts Zmiy Studios. This grounds Thingy Paint’s content in the tactile, wonderfully physical language of real-world collectables.

What kind of experiences do you hope to bring players?
People familiar with real-life painting or crafts are undoubtedly aware of the relaxing “flow state” you enter when engaging in those kinds of hobbies. Thingy Paint is all about finding that flow. Pick a figurine, turn on some low-fi beats, layer in some ambient sound and immerse yourself in our tactile painting experience. Thingy Paint has that one-two punch of being super satisfying to watch, and even more satisfying to play.
