What would be your description of your game?
ēvolūTiō is a captivating tactical/strategy RPG that seamlessly fuses detailed 2D pixel art with immersive 3D environments. Dive into a rich narrative filled with layered characters—each with personal goals and backstories that shape a compelling, choice-driven world. Tactical depth meets emotional storytelling to deliver a fresh, unforgettable gameplay experience.
How did development start? (Were there any key inspirations or ideas that drove you?)
We first met at a Game Republic bootcamp in York—without GR, ēvolūTiō wouldn’t exist. Jack had just wrapped up at Labrador Studios after it closed, and I (Joe) was developing indie games under ShotDash. We were lucky to be paired on the same team during a task on day one at York Guildhall. When I asked Jack if he had any ideas for a game, I didn’t expect him to pull out a 100-page game design document from his time at Labrador. We’ve been building ēvolūTiō ever since.

Tell us about the team behind the game?
We’re a tight-knit indie team where everyone wears multiple hats (and frequently debates game design on Discord). Our core roles are:
Jack Thompson – Art Director and the original creator of ēvolūTiō’s concept and design.
Joseph Maltby – Technical Director and Level Designer.
Valentine Stokes – Voice Actor (credits: Tribe Nine, RWBY, Lackadaisy). He currently voices every character in our demo and will lead casting moving forward.
Juan Schmulenson – Music Composer from Argentina. He reached out to us via email and has been doing phenomenal work on the soundtrack ever since.
What kind of experiences do you hope to bring players?
We want players to be fully immersed in the world of ēvolūTiō. From intense tactical battles to character-driven storytelling, our goal is to make every decision feel meaningful, every encounter memorable, and every character truly unique.

Tactical battles, pixel art, rich story—strategy meets emotion.
