MEAT, from Zovbi Games
What would be your description of your game?
Meat is a 3D pixel art restaurant simulator that incorporates voxel-based designs for both characters and interactable items. You and a small team of chefs must work collaboratively in order to keep a low-budget fast-food establishment afloat. You will all share the tasks of responding to customer orders by utilising the ticket system, preparing and cooking food using stoves and fryers.
How did development start? (Were there any key inspirations or ideas that drove you?)
Originally, the game started as a university project, which was nominated to be taken to the Game Republic Student Showcase. From there, we continued to work on the game with a reduced team, aiming to create something great to demo at GaMaYo. After this, we decided to reshuffle the team a bit and do a full recode, with multiplayer in mind.

Tell us about the team behind the game?
Joel (Team Lead) – ‘I have always had this passion towards the art of making games. This stemmed from growing up playing games on the PS2 with my brother, and I want to share this passion with the world. I wanted to make something that people love playing and put a smile on their faces by providing them with priceless memories. I strive every day to get better as well and learn more so I can create something I am proud of.’
Brad (Lead Developer) – ‘I have always had a keen interest in games since I was young, that interest led me down the road it did, and now I’m here, creating games that I would have liked to play with my friends back then.’
Arminas (Programmer) – ‘I’ve been quite passionate about video games for as long as I can remember. Initially getting hooked from watching my brother and my dad play Command & Conquer together, to finally getting my own Xbox 360 console, where I could explore the world of games freely. Video game creation seemed like the next logical step for me to pursue. I’ve now been working on games full-time for over 5 years, constantly learning new ways to better my craft.’
Luke (Developer) – ‘ My love for video games started when I got my first DS, playing New Super Mario Bros. with my Dad as a kid. Since then, I have played a lot with my younger brother. I want to capture the things he loves most about games, and turn them into something made from his older brother, for him.’
What kind of experiences do you hope to bring players?
we wanted to create a chaotic family fun experience for everyone to enjoy. We also wanted to try and make something that worked with what we feel is our unique art style for all players to enjoy.

In 10 words or less, highlight the appeal of the game.
