Robo Recharge, from Damos Games

What would be your description of your game?

Robo Recharge will be my 12th playdate release.  It’s a wario-ware style game with over 20 mini games that highlights the fun and unique inputs of the playdate.  There’s a story, different difficulty levels and challenges, with some unlockables and secrets.

How did development start? (Were there any key inspirations or ideas that drove you?)

Scope and focus are a constant challenge in game development; I spend a lot of time either having too big a scope or struggling to concentrate on a small concept.  By having mini games, I could hone my skills with different small, scoped games but all contributing to one.  Also wario ware has been synonymous with retro, handheld and unique input methods so playdate it perfect for it.

Tell us about the team behind the game?

I’m an amateur solo developer so all design, pixel art, coding, sound etc. is done by myself.

What kind of experiences do you hope to bring players?

Wacky and challenging, where every game is different, making the player laugh but desperate to keep trying and get a higher score.

In 10 words or less, highlight the appeal of the game.

Fast paced, chaotic, quirky, engaging score chaser.
