What would be your description of your game?

Platypus Reclayed is a joyful, fast-paced shmup with a handcrafted clay art style, packed with charm and nostalgia.

How did development start? (Were there any key inspirations or ideas that drove you?)

The journey began in 2023, when Anthony Flack reacquired the rights to his original 2002 clay-crafted shooter. Platypus Reclayed is a loving reflection – celebrating its retro roots while reimagining gameplay, visuals and content for a new era. It’s true to the original’s charm and the core concept, now enhanced with the possibilities of modern technology.

We’re a small team of passionate developers and artists united by a love of simple, fun game mechanics and quirky creativity. And clay.

What kind of experiences do you hope to bring players?

We want players to feel joy, surprise and a healthy dose of chaos. Whether flying solo or side-by-side with a friend, Platypus Reclayed is all about playful intensity, nostalgia and the simple pleasures of blasting space ships made of plasticine with some rather novel weapons.
